Privacy notice
Last updated 2026. This notice explains how we handle personal data under the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU GDPR.
Who we are
HJO Properties provides short-term letting management for property owners in the UK. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, we are the data controller for personal data submitted through this website. You can reach us at hello@hjoproperties.co.uk.
What we collect and why
Enquiry details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, property location and anything you write in the message field. These are used these to respond to your enquiry and prepare an income forecast. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to a request you initiated) and, where you tick the marketing box, consent.
Technical data such as your IP address and browser information, processed to keep the site secure and available. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
Analytics and marketing data, only if you consent through the cookie banner. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become clients are deleted within 24 months. Client records are kept for the duration of the agreement and for six years afterwards where tax or legal obligations require it. Consent records are kept for as long as the consent is relied upon.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of processors to run our business: website hosting, email and, where you consent, analytics. They act on our instructions only and are bound by contract. We never sell your personal data. Where a provider processes data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on adequacy regulations or the applicable standard contractual clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email hello@hjoproperties.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU or EEA.
Automated decision-making
We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you. The earnings calculator runs entirely in your browser and does not send your inputs to us.
